Player Pro: Course Not Loading, Missing, or Map Not DisplayingUpdated 19 days ago

How Player Pro loads courses

Player Pro displays course maps and distances through a live connection to the Blue Tees GAME App — it does not store course maps offline on the device itself. This means a working Bluetooth connection to your phone and an active GAME app session are both required for course data to appear on the speaker screen.

Course isn't showing up in the app

If you can't find your course when searching in the GAME App:

  • Check your GPS signal. The app uses your phone's GPS to suggest nearby courses. Make sure location permissions are set to "Always" for the Blue Tees GAME app (Settings → Blue Tees GAME → Location → Always).
  • Search manually. Instead of relying on auto-detection, use the search bar to find your course by name or location.
  • Check your internet connection. Course data loads from the cloud — a weak cell or Wi-Fi signal can prevent courses from appearing. Try switching between Wi-Fi and cellular data.
  • Course not in the database? Blue Tees covers 42,000+ courses. If your course is missing, you can request it be added by emailing [email protected] with the course name, city, and state.

Course loaded but distances aren't showing on the speaker

If a round has started in the app but yardages aren't appearing on the Player Pro screen:

  1. Confirm both Bluetooth connections are active. Player Pro needs two separate Bluetooth connections — "Player Pro Audio" for music and "Player Pro" for GPS and app data. GPS distances only appear when the second "Player Pro" connection is active. See Why Does Player Pro Have Two Bluetooth Connections?
  2. Confirm a round has started. Distances do not appear until you've selected a course and tapped Start Round in the GAME App.
  3. Check GPS permissions. On iPhone: Settings → Blue Tees GAME → Location → Always, Background App Refresh → ON. On Android: disable battery optimization for the GAME app and allow "All the Time" location access.
  4. Stay within Bluetooth range. Keep your phone within 30 feet of the speaker. Distance or obstructions can drop the GPS data connection even if music keeps playing.

Map view looks wrong or incomplete on the speaker

  • Hole view not advancing: The speaker should advance automatically as you move between holes. If it doesn't, manually advance the hole in the GAME App.
  • Missing premium screens (Dynamic Hole View, Green Heat Maps, Dynamic Hazards): These require an active Intelligence subscription. If your 6-month free period has ended, these screens will no longer display. See Player Pro: Free 6-Month Subscription for details.
  • Distances updating slowly or stopping: This is usually a GPS lock or background permission issue. See Why Does GPS Stop Updating When My Phone Locks?

Can Player Pro store courses offline?

Player Pro does not pre-download or store course maps on the device. Course data is streamed from the GAME App in real time. Front, Center, and Back distances (basic GPS) do continue updating as long as your phone has GPS signal, even with limited cell service — but premium visual screens like Hole View require the app to be actively connected and running.

For the most reliable performance on the course, keep the GAME App open in the background and ensure background app refresh is enabled on your phone.

Still having trouble?

If your course loads in the app but data consistently fails to appear on the speaker, contact us at [email protected] with the course name, your phone model, and a description of what you're seeing (or not seeing) on the screen.
