How do I connect my Captain Rangefinder to Bluetooth?Updated a month ago

Applies to: Captain Pro + Captain Air

Press the Power button to turn the rangefinder on. Bluetooth will automatically begin broadcasting and become available to connect in the Blue Tees Game App.

If Bluetooth isn't connecting, press and hold the Bluetooth button for 2 seconds to force pairing mode. When ready to pair, the Bluetooth icon will flash on the rangefinder display.

Not connecting? Try these steps

  1. Stay close during pairing. Keep your phone and Captain within 3 feet of each other while pairing. Distance is the most common reason pairing fails.
  2. Forget and re-pair. On your phone, go to Bluetooth settings and find any existing "Captain Pro" or "Captain Air" entry. Tap Forget (iOS) or Unpair (Android), then attempt to pair fresh through the Blue Tees Game App.
  3. Make sure the Bluetooth icon is flashing. A solid Bluetooth icon means the rangefinder thinks it's already connected. Press and hold the Bluetooth button for 2 seconds to put it back into pairing mode — the icon should flash.
  4. Connect through the app, not your phone's Bluetooth menu. Your phone's system Bluetooth settings handle the audio connection only. To fully connect for GPS features, always pair inside the Blue Tees Game App under Devices.
  5. Restart both devices. Power off your Captain, close and reopen the Game App, then power the Captain back on and try connecting again.
