How automatic hole advancement works

The Blue Tees Game App advances to the next hole automatically based on your GPS location. When the app detects that you've moved to the next tee box, it updates the hole number. This requires:

• An active GPS connection (Location Services set to Always on iPhone, or location permission enabled on Android)
• The GAME App running in the background with Background App Refresh enabled
• A clear GPS signal — dense trees or buildings can cause a delay

If any of these conditions aren't met, the app may not advance automatically. You can always advance the hole manually by tapping the hole number on screen and selecting the correct hole.

App jumped to the wrong hole after resuming

If you leave the app mid-round (to text, take a call, or use another app) and the round resumes on the wrong hole:

1. Tap the hole number displayed on screen to open hole selection.
2. Manually select the correct hole you're currently on.
3. Continue your round from there — your previous scoring data will still be saved.

Tip: To prevent this, keep the GAME App open and active during your round rather than switching to other apps. Enabling Background App Refresh also helps the app maintain your position when the screen is locked.

How to enable Background App Refresh

iPhone: Settings → Blue Tees Game → Background App Refresh → On. Also set Location to Always.

Android: Settings → Apps → Blue Tees Game → Battery → Disable Battery Optimization. Also ensure location permission is set to Allow all the time.

App crashing mid-round

If the app crashes and you lose your place in the round:

1. Reopen the GAME App — it will prompt you to resume your active round. Tap Resume.
2. If it resumes on the wrong hole, manually select the correct hole as described above.
3. If crashes are happening frequently, make sure the app is updated to the latest version and restart your phone before your next round.
